If humans basically have 5 Love languages namely: Service, Words of Affirmation, Touch, Gifts, and Time, Dogs on the other hand have their own ways to communicate their love too. Dogs apparently have body language that we need to understand but of course, we all are interested about knowing if our furbabies love us or not. Before I tell you that, why not see the body languages of dogs below as they are also important.

1. Baby Talk
If you want to see more genuine reaction from your dog, try to speak their language. If you actually speak in a high-pitch voice, like baby talking to them, they like it. Baby talking can actually calm them especially the anxious and high-energy dogs. This has been proven and tested to two of my super hype dogs: Paw (chihuahua maltese) and Jaggu (pug). Whenever I babytalk to them, they get calmed and sweet to me.
2. The Tail and the Eyes
Pay attention to the tail and the eyes. A wagging tail, an eye contact, and a raised eyebrow are just simple gestures of "i love you" from your furbaby. Make sure that you response to that love back by giving a little massage on the head or back. On another note, you should be warned a little bit when your furbaby is tucking its tail, lip licking or when the eyes are popping out or averted because these are some signs of anxiety.
3. Staring At You
When your baby is staring at you and held that stare for a long time, it is just as good as saying "mommy i love you" or " daddy i love you".
4. Leaning on You
Just like a loved one who sits beside you and leans on you, your furbaby will do the same when he/she feels loved and secured by your side. Make sure to let him/her feel it even more and never let go. Such a gem time to experience such pure love.
5. Walks With You
When your furbaby likes walking with you and goes wherever you go, he/she understands that your are his/her home and never wants to keep you out of his/her sight. He/she wants to protect you and never want to be away from you. I experience this with most of my babies especially with Cola, when we go out and I just let her go without a leash. She will go wherever I go and stop whenever I stop.
HOW ABOUT YOUR AFFECTION?
You love your dog but your language being communicated to your furbaby may not be accurately translated by him/her.
1. Hugging: some dogs feel trapped or pinned down when you hug them.
2. Kissing: some dogs may think you’re trying to play or assert your place in the household hierarchy when you kiss them.
3. Treats: you think they will think that you are generous when you give treats? Well treats are best used for motivating behavior and dog training. See how quickly your dog’s loyalty disappears the minute someone else offers them treats.
In order to show love to your dog, you need to at some point think like a dog. You need to know their language instead of teaching them your language, because that will take a lot of power to invest. God has designed them in a very special way and it is very exciting to discover the unique DNA that He has imprinted on them. Come on, you can know your dog well by His guidance too.
